Service: Private Power Pole Replacement
Problem.
Our client living on acreage in Terrey Hills had one of his private poles damaged in a recent storm. This caused the pole to fall over and be held up only by the wires and a nearby fence. This required urgent attention before serious damage occurred to people and property.
Solution.
Everest Electrical was able to attend and safely disconnect the supply from the network pole allowing work to commence on replacing the fallen pole. With this being a safety concern our client chose to replace the other 4 poles leading to the main house.
Removal and replacement of 5 new treated timber poles is certainly a larger scale project but good planning and communication ensured all our team members knew their role to play in achieving the objective.
Once the cabling was de energised, we then anchored the fallen pole to prevent further movement before extraction. The cabling that joined each pole was removed. The next stage involved 3 individual trucks: a crane truck focused on extracting the old poles, a truck with an auger extension drilling through the rock and our EWP (Elevated Work Platform) truck focused on the electrical component of the install.
The installation went smoothly and was completed by 4:30pm.
Following relevant testing the electricity supply was energised and our client was extremely pleased at the end result.
